Crypto Fraud Boss, Faruk Ozer Extradited to Turkey
Officers of Interpol Tirana, those of the Elite Force RENEA and the services of the General Directorate of Prisons, handed over the citizen Faruk Ozer, 29 years old, to the counterparts of Interpol Ankara this Thursday morning, with the aim of extraditing him to Turkey.
The 29-year-old was arrested in August 2022 in Himare, who was wanted internationally for defrauding 391,000 citizens through cryptocurrencies, a fraud with economic damage of 2 billion USD.
In 2021, the High Court of Istanbul issued an arrest warrant against this citizen, for the criminal offenses "Creating a criminal organization" and "Fraud with serious consequences".
"Citizen F.O. was wanted internationally, as he is accused of having defrauded about 391,000 members of this platform and benefited about 2 billion dollars through the cryptocurrency exchange platform.
As a result of the cooperation of Interpol Tirana with Interpol Ankara, it became possible to arrest the citizen F.O., in Albania, within the framework of the "Brain" operation, and then to finalize the procedures with his extradition to Turkey", as stated in police announcement among other things.
