Democrat Accuses SP of Paying EUR 100-300 per Vote for April 25 Polls

One vote in in the Durrës district was bought from 100 to 300 EUR by the Socialist Party (SP) during on the eve of April 25 general elections, blamed Tuesday the representative of the Democratic Party at Complaints and Sanctions Commission (KAS), Marash Logu.

The Democrat went further with his allegations by saying that during this time many tenders were issued, PPP, public favors, construction permits, legalizations, etc., factors that affected the election result.

Logu spoke with names and mentioned individuals, senior officials of the SP, who according to him, have distorted the free will of citizens. However, DPs representative released these claims regarding the irregularities in the Durrës Region, before and during the April 25 elections, at the meeting of the Complaints and Sanctions Commission (CAS).

“We have requested, as has become clear, to oppose decision 340 on the approval of the summary table of the Durrës Region, demanding the invalidity of the elections in the Durrës Region and re-election in this district.

DP has presented before you a complaint material with 58 pages, explaining all the violations that have occurred in Durrës Region. Specifically, we have submitted to this commission that Ardian Çela, Vangjush Dako, Lefter Koka, Ergys Çyrbja, Rrahman Rraja, and other local leaders, representatives of the SP, individuals of the SP had set up a structure for receiving votes, through food, money, pressure.

We have filed two criminal reports at the SPAK for this. What we ask you to prove is the fact that for these identified citizens, were given in exchange for the vote, the amount from 100 to 300 euros, next to them are the names of the patronageists, that this money were given.

Of course, the PD investigations go to a certain point. We also submitted that EUR 115 million have been distributed from the reconstruction fund by the SP. EUR 6 million were also distributed in the last week of the campaign.

Reconstruction funds were used for elections. In 76 cases, ministers, the prime minister, used the reconstruction for electoral reasons. Citizens with criminal records won tenders. The right to transparency was rejected, not only of the DP, but also the right of the citizens of Durrës for transparency”, noted Democrat Logu.
