Dhërmi, Border Police Officer Dies after Patrolling at Sea

A serious incident was recorded on Saturday evening in Dhërmi, 56-year-old Sinan Abilaliaj, an employee of the Border Police, died while patrolling the sea. 

Police announced that the 56-year-old man who was the operator of the boat did not feel well, which was why he anchored the vehicle in front of the Border Police station and went ashore. 

Despite the immediate intervention, the police officer died, while preliminary suspicions are in place that Abilaliaj died due to cardiac arrest. 

Meanwhile, the investigation group in cooperation with the medical team continues the work to determine the exact cause of the loss of life of the 56-year-old. 

"Around 8:10 p.m., in Dhërmi, the Border Police employee of the Dhërmi Border Police Station, citizen Sinan Abilaliaj, 56 years old, driver of a Border Police vessel, while patrolling the sea, did not feel well in terms of health and for this reason, he anchored the boat in front of the Border Police station in Dhërmi and went ashore. 

Emergency medical help was immediately requested and despite the immediate intervention, the police officer and the citizen lost their lives", announced the police.
