Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi has expressed his condolences to the family of Major Xhevahir Jazaj, who lost his life this Wednesday in Afghanistan in still unclear circumstances. 

Peleshi expresses his sincere condolences to the Jazaj family and all relatives for this great loss, as he had today communication with the Albanian contingent serving in Herat and Kabul. 

Furthermore, the Minister of Defense emphasizes that the Albanian military is our pride and that the minds and hearts of Albanians go to the late Xhevahir Jazaj.

"The death of a military man, especially on a mission away from home, is a painful event for everyone. I express my deepest condolences to the family of Major Xhevahir Jazaj. A few moments ago I had direct communication with the Albanian contingent serving in Herat and Kabul. 

I shared with them the condolences for the loss of their friend and assured them that all Albanians are with their minds and hearts close to them. They are our pride in relation to NATO allies and our strategic partners US and EU with whom we share common challenges of collective defense, peace and security," wrote Peleshi.
