Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party (DP) has held Tuesday a meeting with a representative from the Foreign and Security Committee of the Romanian Senate represented by Senator Titus Korlatean. 

Through a statement on social networks, Alibeaj shared details from the meeting and what was discussed as he said that Romania's support for Albania's EU integration is very important. 

Another important topic that has been the focus of discussions was the war in Ukraine as an issue of international security and the need for a peaceful solution to avoid human losses and restore economic stability in Europe. 

"We had the pleasure as representatives of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party to hold a meeting with a representative from the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee of the Romanian Senate, chaired by the Chairman of the Commission, Senator Titus Korlatean. 

During the meeting held in the Albanian Parliament, the good historical relations between the two countries and the need to intensify bilateral cooperation were emphasized, where Romania's support for our EU integration is very important. 

During the conversation with my Romanian colleagues, I stressed the importance of guaranteeing the stability of the Balkans and moving forward throughout the region towards a large European and Atlantic family, including Kosovo's integration into NATO. 

To the interest of my Romanian colleagues in respecting the freedoms and rights of minorities, especially the Romanian one, I stressed that one of the distinguishing values ??of the Albanian society is the coexistence and dignified appreciation of the minorities in Albania who have felt at home with their full rights. History is a witness to this virtue. 

We also talked about the situation created by the war in Ukraine, as an issue of international security and the necessity of a peaceful solution to avoid human losses and to restore economic stability in Europe", revealed Alibeaj. 

On Monday, Senator Titus Korlatean held a meeting with the Head of the Socialist Party (SP) Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla.
