Durres Port Still Without TIMS System Due to Cyber Attack

TIMS system has not yet returned to the port of Durrës after the cyber attack by Iran. Registration of entries and exits is proceeding manually.

Albaniandailynews.com learns that yesterday evening around 2500 people left the Port of Durrës, while this morning 800 immigrants entered Albania. Meanwhile, there is also a ferry from Ancona to arrive at lunch.

TIMS system has returned to the border point of Kapshtica, Kakavija and Rinas Airport. The attack on the TIMS system has been in several stages, which culminated with the one at 23:13 on the 9th, bringing everything out of control, while the Iranians' access to the Rinas security cameras is a breach of national security.

Attack on the TIMS system

TIMS is the system that regulates entry and exit in the Republic of Albania and is the core of the country's border control. During yesterday evening, problems with this system were reported, as well as an increase in the queues of citizens from inside and outside the border of Albania due to a problem in the TIMS system, which initially did not understand why it happened.

Regarding this attack, Prime Minister Rama also reacted, who said that its source was from Iran and that the government is cooperating with partners to enable the service and return to work of the TIMS system.

It is not yet known whether or not the Iranians had access to this system, which is administered by the police itself with limited access. In fact, every police officer who goes in and searches for the movements of a certain citizen in that system leaves traces.
