Eight MPs Excluded from Parliament for 10 Days
The Ethics Committee has expelled for 10 days the 8 opposition MPs who blocked the floor of the Parliament the day before. It is learned that the MPs expelled are:
1. Elda Hoti
2. Albana Vokshi
3. Bledion Nallbati
4. Zheni Gjergji
5. Lefter Chestnut
6. Asllan Dogjani
7. Luan Baçi
8. Gazment Bardhi
The exclusion came after the request of a group of MPs of the Socialist Party, where it was pointed out that the opposition MPs blocked the Speaker of the Parliament, Lindita Nikolla, from sitting in the chair of the session.
"Accordingly, MPs Elda Hoti, Albana Vokshi, Bledion Nallbati and Zheni Gjergji blocked the place in the hall of the plenary session, where the Speaker of the Parliament sits, preventing the plenary session from proceeding normally, after the closing of the discussions.
MPs Lefter Geshtenja, Asllan Dogjani, Luan Baçi and Gazmend Bardhi in coordination with each other obstructed the entrance corridor of the Speaker of the Assembly in the plenary session hall with chairs and did not allow her passage to her place, to announce the continuation or the closing of the plenary session according to the powers recognized by the law and the Regulation of the Parliament.
Deputy Gazmend Bardhi prevented the Speaker from giving the announcements by removing the card from the electronic device during her speech that she was giving in one of the seats of the Council of Ministers.
All the above actions constitute serious violations according to the Rules of the Assembly, article 65/1, point a', (obstructing the plenary session, causing chaos) and which are in open contradiction with the Code of Conduct of the MP, as they constitute actions unacceptable, against the ethical norms for the MP as a model for society and which seriously damage the image of the Parliament and the MP himself in public", says the letter of the SP MPs.
