Ervis Martinaj's Family Appeals Confiscation of 34 Properties
The relatives of the much-wanted man, Ervis Martinaj have played the last card, in order to release 34 assets seized by order of the Prosecutor's Office.
With a request addressed to the High Court, they appeal the decision of February 2023, of the Special Court, which ordered the seizure of buildings, businesses, land, apartments, vehicles, etc., that Martinaj had registered in his name and that of his family members.
Among the seized assets of the gambling boss are King Casino, Alba Communication, an apartment on Dervish Hima street in Tirana, a savings account for children, etc.
The family members had requested the release of the assets earlier in the Court of Appeal, but through a communication to the media, the Appeal informed that the decision has been upheld as there are reasonable doubts that these assets mainly in Fushëkuqe, Patok and Lezhë were gained by the illegal activity carried out by Martinaj, who has been missing for more than 10 months.
The order for the seizure of 34 assets signed by the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, prosecutor Behar Dibra and prosecutor Enkeleda Millonai began to be implemented from March 2023. These assets are already in use and administration of the agency for the administration of seized and confiscated assets.
Ervis Martinaj has been missing since August 2022, when his uncle filed a complaint with the Police about losing contact with his nephew. Ervis Martinaj was also announced as wanted within the "Golden Bullet" operation, after Nuredin Dumani revealed that he had offered 500,000 euros for the elimination of Endri Dokle. Martinaj was last caught by security cameras in Vlora and Durrës.
There are two main tracks of the investigation, one is a possible staging by Martinaj himself to escape from the opponents and the other track is that of the kidnapping by the rivals.
