The European Union in Albania condemned Monday the recent attack on the judge, Tonin Sterkaj.

In a short reaction EU said that safety of judges and prosecutors from intimidation is key for independence.

"We strongly condemn the recent attack on a judge in Albania. 

Safety of judges and prosecutors from intimidation is key for the independence of judiciary and in the fight against corruption and organized crime. The EU expresses its full support to the judges and prosecutors of the judicial system in Albania," said statement.
