Court of Korça has decided Friday the security measure "prison arrest" for Viola Sterjo, arrested three days ago for fraud. 

This decision came after the Korça Police arrested the former director of the Ministry of Environment on December 28. 

According to the police, the 39-year-old woman has benefited through fraud from the citizens of Korça a considerable sum of money so that they could benefit from monetary funds from the state. 

Suspicions are in place that the 39-year-old has defrauded 5 subjects, taking amounts ranging from €20,000 to €90,000. 

According to the sources, she had promised the subjects that she would intervene to win projects from the AZHBR. 

The subjects have paid the money on projects ranging from 1 million to 4 million EUR.
