Ex-Russian PM Claims Moscow Was Behind Kremlin Attack
Vladimir Putin's first prime minister, Mikhail Kasyanov, has said he believes yesterday's attempted attack on the Kremlin was a "staged operation".
Speaking to Sky News, Mr Kasyanov said Russia had staged the attack to encourage more people to join the country's military.
"Putin needs this before the Victory Day," Mr Kasyanov said, referring to Russia's annual commemoration of its victory against the Nazis.
Mr Kasyanov left Russia last year and is now highly critical of the Kremlin's actions in Ukraine, despite once working closely with Putin.
He said it was interesting that Moscow was willing to blame Ukraine for the alleged drone attack, as it was an acknowledgment that Ukrainian drones could reach as far as the Kremlin.
Mr Kasyanov warned that we should "expect something more" from Moscow in the coming days, such as another provocation.
