First Certification Flight at Vlora Airport Landed Successfully

This morning, the first certification flight at Vlora Airport broke the quiet wit ha roar welcoming Albania’s bold new entry into the world’s air corridors.

Vlora Airport hosted its first flight and high-ranking officials and international guests attended the event.

Testing the preparations had taken place over several months while the new airport in Albania is set to welcome travelers and tourists soon.

Air Albania will establish its main base in Vlora, while Air Kosovo in Kukës.

Former President of Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli, arrived on an incoming flight. The facility of the Airport covers 309 hectares, features a 3.2 km runway, and cost €104 million.

It’s Albania’s new gateway to the south, designed for global and transoceanic flights and it is seen as a strategic investment for boosting tourism and the local economy.
