Footballer Bledar Pjeter Zefi, captain of Shënkolli football team has been arrested after hitting the main referee, Abdurrahman Kadria with his head during the match with Sopot, valid for the fifth week of A group of the Second Category. 

Immediately after the incident, the referee immediately went to the Lezha hospital for treatment, as he had a cut on his face. 

The game did not continue and now the event remains to be examined by the bodies of the Albanian Football Federation (AFF). 

Meanwhile, procedural actions were carried out for the criminal offense "Assault due to duty" provided for by Article 237 of the Penal Code, and the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Lezha. 

"On 28.10.2023, the arrest was made in flagrante delicto of the citizen Bledar Pjeter Zefi, (football player of the Shënkolli team, category 2, Lezhë) dtl 06.09.1992, born and resident in Lezhë, because during the football match , of the second category between the teams of "Shenkolli" and "Sopot" from Librazhdi, punched the referee of the match, citizen Abdurraman Kadriu, born in Peshkopi and resident in Tirana, who is receiving treatment at the Lezhë Regional Hospital, out of danger to his life", announced the police.
