Former Minister, Lefter Koka Arrested by SPAK

Former Minister, Lefter Koka, was arrested this Tuesday by order of Special Prosecution against Organized Crime and Corruption (SPAK).

Sources confirmed for Albaniandailynews.com that the operational forces arrived this Tuesday morning in Durrës, and accompanied several people, among them Koka, who is expected to be informed about the arrest measure. In addition to Koka, the sources specify that there are several other escorted persons, to whom the accusation is expected to be communicated in the future.

Lefter Koka has served as Minister of Environment during the coalition government Rama-Meta in 2013 until 2017. Koka then decided in 2019 not to relinquish his MP mandate just like the united opposition did, in this way parting his way with that of the Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI).

In the elections of April 25, Lefter Koka run as the candidate of the Socialist Party in Durres district and won his mandate, but shortly after winning, he decided to leave his mandate. SMI has reported to SPAK former Minister Lefter Koka regarding his affairs with incinerators.
