Greek Police Raids Cell of Infamous Albanian Convict
A raid on the famous Domokos prison cells was made by police officers of the Attica Security Robbery Department.
This search came after information indicating that there were mobile devices and improvised weapons in the foreigners' cells.
Among the controlled cells is that of Alket Rizai. In addition to him, this case also involved a 40-year-old Albanian sentenced to life imprisonment for a double murder (father and son) in Kalamata. A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Lamia Security Sub-Directorate.
During the investigations, the following were found and seized:
-5 improvised wooden and 2 metal sticks,
-7 screwdrivers,
-2 knives,
-stick consisting of three parts joined and bound with cloth,
-5 mobile phones with SIM cards,
-8 chargers and 3 USB cables,
-17 USB sticks,
-smart watch with charger,
-3 metal forks and part of the metal fork,
-wired and wireless headphones etc.
Alket Rizai is considered one of the most dangerous people in Greece. In 2006 and 2009, he, in collaboration with known Greek criminals, managed to escape from the high-security prison in the neighboring country, that of Koridhalos, using a helicopter.
The first Hollywood-style escape took place on June 4, 2006, masterminded by Nikos Paleokostas, the brother of a notorious criminal, Vasilis Paleokostas.
Alket Rizai was born in Ballsh, Mallakastra, where he lived until the end of the 90s and then emigrated to Greece. In Greece he was convicted of murdering a Greek citizen, businessman Thanasi Koropiotis, whom he suspected of having an affair with his Russian girlfriend, Oksana.
