An unusual story happened in Thessaloniki, where two women learned that they were married to two Albanians, without their knowledge. 

It was MEGA TV channel and journalist Nikos Evangjelatos who shed light on the event. 

According to the report, it is a criminal group, which includes Greek lawyers and public servants, who falsify documents, hold false celebrations and provide Albanian citizens with Greek passports or residence permits as spouses of Greek citizens. So far, 2 celebrations have been confirmed in the special civil status of Athens, for foreign citizens, in 2018 and 2019. 

After denouncing the women, who accidentally discovered that they were married to foreigners, an Albanian citizen claimed that he asked the lawyers to obtain a residence permit, while they promised him passport and Greek woman for a few more euros. 

Thus, he agreed to "marry" in secret form with the 34-year-old from Thessaloniki. Another 29-year-old Greek woman turns out to be married, without her knowledge. The case is being investigated by Greek police.
