Albanian PM with Only a Bachelor Degree; No Master

Prime Minister Edi Rama was this Friday at the Agricultural University of Tirana. This university, in cooperation with the German Government, has received a Doctoral program in Agriculture, Environment, Biotechnology, Agribusiness and Veterinary Medicine, which aims to further qualify excellent students and young professionals.

During his speech, the Prime Minister noted, according to him, the change that UBT has undergone. Among other things, Rama did not hesitate to exchange jokes with those present. The Prime Minister said that in the hall he is the only one without academic titles, while the Albanians have a Master.

"Today for me is a significant day of the relationship with the rector, in his right he was very worried some time ago. whether for the fact that there has been a decline in enrollment in the Agricultural University. Whether for the fact of not opening doctorates. We both had discussions about how to do it better.

In this room, I am the only one without any scientific title and no academic status. A simple Bachelor I have. Although Evis says that my bachelor from the past can be converted to master. But this word Master has become a horror to me where all Albanians are with Master.

A doctoral process of guaranteed quality opens today. 30 individuals are given the opportunity to develop a doctorate, which has the stamp of the best universities in the field in Germany, or other EU countries. This is the model we need to extend to the entire system for doctorates. We should not give local doctorates. We should not even have local universities," Rama said.
