Ilir Proda was elected this Wednesday as the new Director of the State Police.

The news was made public by the Interior Minister at the end of the Council of Ministers meeting. 

He also said that in the meantime, a race for the new directors of the police in the 12 districts of the country will be opened.

According to him, this process will be concluded within October. 

Proda was elected after the resignation of the former director Muhamet Rrumbullaku.
