Illegal Cryptocurrencies Discovered in Shkodra, One Arrested
Shkodra police have discovered in a warehouse 16 electronic devices that were used to generate virtual cryptocurrencies, with illegal electricity connections.
The possessor of the equipment has been declared wanted, while the police have been able to arrest the accomplice.
"As part of the "Avalon" operation, J. M., 21 years old, resident of Shkodra, was declared wanted for the criminal offenses "Computer Fraud"; "Theft of electricity or telephone pulses", committed in collaboration; "Concealment of income"; "Unlicensed exercise of commercial activity" and "Laundering of proceeds of crime".
During the control in the warehouse, 16 electronic devices were found and seized as material evidence, which were used for the illegal generation of cryptocurrencies and were suspected to be used by the 21-year-old.
Also, as a result of this operation, the following citizen was arrested in flagrante delicto: E. M., 43 years old, resident in Shkodra, for the criminal offenses "Production and sale of narcotics" and "Theft of electricity or telephone impulses", committed in collaboration, as it is suspected that in cooperation with the citizen J. M., committed the illegal activity of production of virtual cryptocurrencies.
Also, during the control exercised in the apartment of the citizen E. M., the Police services found and seized a quantity of suspected narcotic substance cannabis sativa.
Following this operation, the following citizen was prosecuted on his own recognizance: F. B., 33 years old, resident in Shkodra, on duty reader of the measuring device, in OSHEE Shkodra, for the criminal offense "Abuse of duty", as it is suspected that this citizen has enabled the supply of equipment that generates virtual cryptocurrencies, with illegal connections of electricity.
The materials were referred to the Shkodra Judicial District Prosecutor's Office for further action", informed the Police.
