Italy, Albanian Sentenced to Jail for Cocaine Trafficking
A 32-year-old Albanian man was sentenced to 8 years and 6 months in prison in Italy, after being found guilty of cocaine trafficking.
On January 11 last year, Italian authorities seized a quantity of 22 kg of cocaine, but were not sure if it belonged to the 32-year-old.
The punishment imposed by the Court of Rimini comes after the verification that the owner of 14 kg of cocaine and 8.5 of marijuana is the Albanian.
According to the indictment, the 32-year-old would have the total availability of his friend, organizing meetings for the "delivery" of drugs. The fact that the deliveries were regular and punctual, the "professionalism" shown by the Albanian were considered "evidence elements for the risk of repeating crimes of the same type", so the court sentenced him to 8 years and 6 months in prison.
