Judge Dismissed within Vetting Process
Appeal Chamber dismissed the judge of the Durrës Appeal, Anita Mici, considering the decision-making of the Independent Qualification Commission to be unfounded in facts and in law.
The decision was taken by the panel chaired by Sokol Çomo, with rapporteur Natasha Mulaj and members Albana Shtylla, Rezarta Schuetz and Ina Rama, who turned down the decision of first instance of vetting process.
According to the Appeal Chamber, the financial analysis carried out for the apartment resulted in a negative balance for the payment of 5,000 euros made in 2006, sourced from family savings.
Appeal Chamber has found Mici unfit for professionalism as well. Çomo noted the findings in several cases, where there was a lack of legal reasoning for the subject's decision-making, as well as the Supreme Court's conclusion that the Durrës Appeal panel, where Mici was also a member, had decided on the conditional release of Lulzim Berisha in a wrong application of the legislation.
