Kosovo PM Responds to Vucic's Statements

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has responded to the statement of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stating that the local authorities will not withdraw from the situation in the north of Kosovo.

In a post on Twitter, Kurti writes that the Serbian President has threatened military aggression, while adding that Kosovo will also be defended by force.

Kurti emphasizes that the license plate issue has been resolved, while the elections in the north have also been postponed, so Serbia no longer has any excuse for attacks and riots.

The head of the Kosovar government says that his country does not seek conflict, but dialogue and peace.

"With the resolution of the license plate issue and the postponement of the elections, the criminal gangs in the north of Kosovo lack even the weakest pretext for barricades and violent attacks on the Kosovo Police. In cooperation with KFOR, we are working to address the situation as quickly and peacefully as possible.

The president and the prime minister of Serbia have also threatened military aggression, demanding that the Serbian army return to our territory. We do not seek conflict, but dialogue and peace. But let me be clear: the Republic of Kosovo will be defended - with strength and determination," Kurti wrote.
