Kosovo's Minister Reacts after FIFA Launches Investigation on Serbia
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports in Kosovo, Hajrulla Çeku, said that the World Football Federation will not need much time to investigate and make a decision against the Serbian Football Federation, regarding the alleged violations during the Switzerland-Serbia match.
On December 5, FIFA announced that it has initiated disciplinary proceedings against the Football Federation of Serbia, under suspicions that the Serbian national team violated some rules during the match with the Swiss national team, played on December 2 in the framework of the World Football Championship.
"The facts are public, the violations are very easy to ascertain and document. Now all that remains is to develop the procedure and determine the amount of punishment for Serbia", ?eku told Radio Free Europe.
On December 4, the Kosovo Football Federation announced that it had asked FIFA to investigate and sanction the Serbian national team, because it said that during the match with Switzerland, "serious insults were heard from the coach of the Serbian national team" towards Albanians and that "racist actions by Serbian fans" were observed.
