Kosovo's Parl. Speaker Slams Rama for Not Consulting with Kurti on Association's Draft

The Speaker of the Parliament of Kosovo Glauk Konjufca has reacted after Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that he has proposed a draft for the creation of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority in Kosovo.

Konjufca has described the action of Prime Minister Edi Rama as wrong, as he said that he should not have taken such a step without first consulting with the head of the government of Kosovo, Albin Kurti.

Asked if they have requested to have the draft of the Association, Konjufca said no, as they have no interest.

"No, we are not interested, because I think this is a matter for Kosovo's institutions. The Albanian prime minister said that it is a secret, but our vice speaker said that he has seen it. Many drafts have circulated so far, but none of them have had an effect in Kosovo. I can't prejudge the content. In principle I think it is wrong regardless of the content. A defect is in principle because the Albanian prime minister should not have done such actions without sitting down with the prime minister of Kosovo even without clarifying all these problems together. They meet often, I think, but this was a lateral move," he said.
