Little Boy Kidnapped, Killed for Ransom in Turkey
A serious event has taken place in Turkey, where a 12-year-old boy has been kidnapped and killed.
The kidnapper had demanded 400,000 EUR in exchange for his release, but he killed the child when he failed to get what he wanted.
Khaled Hayanked, the son of a Syrian jeweler who lived in Mersin, disappeared Tuesday afternoon while playing near the block of flats where he lived.
Turkish media reported that immediately after the kidnapping, a person called the child's family and demanded a ransom of 400,000 euros, threatening that if the police were informed, he would kill the boy.
After the call, the family of the 12-year-old immediately notified the police.
Examining the available evidence as well as the camera footage, the police have come to the conclusion that the 12-year-old did not leave the building where he lived with his family, focusing the investigations there.
Unfortunately, Khaled was found dead in the basement of the building wrapped in a carpet.
As it was established, the cause of his death was suffocation.
Suspicion was immediately directed at the building's administrator, who was the only one with keys to the basement, while it was established that the cameras had been deactivated in the hours of the 12-year-old's abduction.
Afterwards, police officers arrested Hasan C. whom they accuse of murdering the 12-year-old.
