The leader of the Democratic Party (DP), Lulzim Basha stated after the first session in the Assembly that the only enemy of DP is Edi Rama. 

This reaction came after his decision to exclude from DP parliamentary group the ex leader Sali Berisha, who was declared non-grata by US on May of this year. 

He was asked by journalists if there was pressure for Berisha's expulsion from the PD parliamentary group. The latter has made a series of accusations in the last two days over a possible Basha-Rama agreement for his expulsion from the DP group. 

Yesterday, Lulzim Basha announced his decision as chairman to expel Sali Berisha from the parliamentary group of PD, while he chose to stand by DASH after the decision to declare him ‘non grata’. 

Berisha immediately opposed Basha's decision, accusing the latter of pacts with Edi Rama and that he was forced to do so after being threatened with sanctions. Today, Berisha, despite this decision, appeared in the Assembly, but as an independent MP, even though he claims to be a member of the DP parliamentary group.
