Man Caught with Undeclared Money at Kakavija Border

18,150 euros were seized from Kakavija, while a 53-year-old Greek man was prosecuted, as he is accused of not declaring it at the exit of the Republic of Albania. 

Official sources from the police informed that it is about the citizen Evangelos Rizos. 

"As a result of the maximum commitment of the Border Police services of the Kakavije, in cooperation with the customs authorities, for the prevention and attack of border crimes, in addition to the work to provide a quality and ethical service to citizens at the entrance/exit, it has been found and struck 1 case of non-declaration of funds. 

On the basis of the risk analysis, at the exit of the country, the vehicle driven by the Greek citizen E.R. was passed for control in the second line, in which, during the control, 18,150 euros were found hidden that this citizen was trying to withdraw from our country, without declaring them as defined by the law. 

Following the procedural actions for this case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings were initiated in a free state for the citizen E.R., 53 years old, resident in Greece, and the amount of money was seized. The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Gjirokastër, for further actions," the police said.
