Measures Regarding the May 11 Elections, General Prosecutor Meets with Head of OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission
Today, the General Prosecutor Olsian Çela had a meeting with Ambassador Lamberto Zannier, the Head of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission.
The meeting aimed to brief the Mission’s representatives on the actions taken by the General Prosecutor’s Office regarding the investigation of criminal offenses related to elections. Additionally, the discussion addressed potential support for the Mission’s work from the prosecution offices of general jurisdiction.
Temporary special units have been established within all prosecution offices of genreral jurisdiction, in light of the upcoming parliamentary elections of May 11, 2025. These units, headed by the respective chief prosecutors, will be supported from the State Police, including judicial police officers, as well as a dedicated operational force.
Additionally, efforts will be coordinated with the Central Election Commission and the Special Prosecutor’s Office to facilitate the prompt exchange of reports on criminal offenses, ensure effective information sharing, and promote the efficient coordination of investigations, in line with the agreements in place.
