Ministry Denies Reports of Minor’s Death as Three People Injured During Tirana Protests

The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare reported that three people, including a 15-year-old minor, a police officer and a media representative, had arrived at the University Trauma Hospital following Sunday’s protests in Tirana. All three were in stable condition, according to an official statement issued at 4 p.m. local time.

The ministry said the injured individuals were undergoing medical examinations and receiving treatment from medical and nursing staff.

Meanwhile, Albania’s Ministry of Interior categorically denied circulating reports that a minor had died during the unrest, describing the claim as false.

Authorities urged media outlets and the public to verify information before sharing it, warning that the spread of false reports could cause panic among families, distress and unnecessary tensions within the public.

The statement comes as protests in the Albanian capital have been marked by clashes between demonstrators and police, with tensions escalating around key government buildings.

Officials have not provided further details about the circumstances in which the three individuals were injured.
