New details are revealed from the drug operation in the port of Durrës, where 143 kg of cocaine were seized.

Police had received information about 2 weeks ago about the departure of the cargo from Guayaquil and had increased port control for all cargo from Latin America.

From Ecuador, the container was transited to Italy in the port of Gioia Tauro, but was not checked. In the accompanying documentation, the container loaded with bananas was destined for Tirana.

Upon arrival at the port of Durrës, it underwent a scanner control, which launched a red signal. To pass it to the second line of control, the police called one of the administrators of the company "Masabi Fruits", Klajdi Xibraku. In his presence, the metal part of the ceiling was sawn, where the packages of narcotics were found.

Klajdi Xibraku was arrested by the police, and a few hours later another administrator, Erjon Peti, was handcuffed.

The two detainees, who are also cousins ​​to each other, deny any connection to drug trafficking. They say they have been operating in fruit imports for 5 years and every week they expect containers from Latin America, but have never been involved in drug trafficking.

The police suspect that the shipment of 143 kg of drugs came to Albania on behalf of 3 different criminal groups. The blue uniforms have seized the cell phones of the two detainees as well as all company documentation.
