The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has provided details of the destruction of the drug trafficking criminal group. During the 2-year investigation, it is reported that narcotics of the type "Cocaine", "Heroin", "Marijuana", "Risina", "Cannabis Sativa" were seized in 8 cases, with an approximate value of 2,700,000 euros. 

SPAK announces that they have made it possible to document the criminal activity of 21 members of the structured criminal group, involved in some cases of drug trafficking from Middle Eastern countries to Albania and from Albania to North Macedonia, Greece, Italy and EU countries. 

The drug is reported to have been obtained in Syria, Turkey and other countries of the Middle East, then trafficked to Greece, Albania with destination Italy and EU countries. 

"After a 2-year investigation, SPAK in cooperation with the Florence Prosecutor's Office, EUROJUST, EUROPOL, the Compagnia Borgo San Lorenzo Carabinieri Department (Florence), the State Police, the Italian Interforce Office and other law enforcement agencies, have made it possible to document the criminal activity of 21 members of the structured criminal group, including in some cases the trafficking of narcotics from Middle Eastern countries to Albania and from Albania to North Macedonia, Greece, Italy and EU countries. 

Specifically, the seized narcotics, of the type "Cocaine", "Heroin", "Marijuana", "Novelty", were obtained in Syria, Turkey and other countries of the Middle East, then trafficked to Greece, Albania with destination Italy and EU countries. 

During this investigation, narcotics of the type "Cocaine", "Heroin", "Marijuana", "Risina", "Cannabis Sativa" were seized in 8 cases, with an approximate value of 2,700,000 euros. 

Following the request submitted by the Special Prosecutor's Office, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime has imposed personal security measures for 21 persons suspected of committing the criminal offenses "Narcotics Trafficking", "Structured Criminal Group ", "Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group", "Cleaning of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity", "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions", provided by articles 283/a, 333/a , 334, 287 and 259 of the Criminal Code. 

On 27.06.2023, the decision of the Special Court for Corruption and Organized Crime was executed for 20 people under investigation and one person was declared internationally wanted. 

During the execution of the court's decision, vehicles, computer equipment, mobile devices, as well as monetary values were seized as material evidence," it is said in the announcement.
