NATO Congratulates Albania on National Flag Day

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) congratulated Albania this Sunday on the 109th anniversary of the declaration of Independence. Prime Minister Edi Rama has distributed the photo through which NATO congratulates Albania on Independence Day.

"Join us to celebrate the Independence Day of our ally, Albania", NATO emphasizes through a photo of Albania's military uniform.

The Albanian Armed Forces are making a significant contribution to NATO-led peace support operations. In 2009, Albania joined NATO, after the completion of the ratification of the Accession Protocol by all allied countries and the deposit of the instrument of NATO accession in the State Department, which is also the legal holder of the Washington Treaty. By becoming a party to this Treaty and a NATO member state, Albania fulfilled a strategic goal and a primary foreign policy objective, significantly advancing in the realization of its national interests.

Albania expanded its contribution to Alliance operations for peace and security in Afghanistan, such as ISAF and the Resolute Support mission, after 2014. During this period, hundreds of Albanian servicemen served with high dedication and professionalism and sacrifices in some of the ISAF regional commands, best fulfilling the tasks assigned by the ISAF command.
