Albania has become an attraction for foreign tourists. The latest INSTAT figures show that only in the period January-May, about 2.4 million foreign citizens entered the country. If we make a comparison with the same period a year ago, it turns out that the increase turns out to be 42.5%. This shows that Albania is an interesting country not only for the coast but also for mountain tourism. 

During the winter and spring, a number of mountain areas such as Valbona and Thethi have been frequented and have become spots of reference for foreign tourists. The highest number of tourists turns out to be from Southern and Western Europe, more precisely from countries such as Spain, Italy, England and Switzerland. 

The summer months are expected to have even more foreign tourists, while the tourist operators have announced that more than 80% of the hotel accommodation structures are practically booked. 

Meanwhile, even organized tourism has taken up more space and only during the summer season up to 1 thousand charters are expected. 

But on the other hand, the number of Albanian citizens who left the territory of Albania during the first five months of 2023 is 2.4 million, increasing by 21.1%, compared to the same period a year ago.
