New Tax Stamp Prices Enter into Force
The decision "On the determination of security elements and the price of tax stamps" has been published in the Official Gazette, which comes into effect immediately.
According to this decision, the price of the tax stamp for beer will be 17.22 euros, for tobacco 15.65 euros, and for alcohol the tax stamp fee will be 25.05 euros. For wine, the fee for 1 thousand tax stamps will be 25.04 euros.
The decision also determines the security elements for tracking tax stamps, including secure backgrounds, fine text, and color-changing effects.
For digital security features, elements such as a) unique identifier: each tax stamp contains a highly secure and encrypted identifier for the tracking system; b) 2D codes: which include visible and invisible 2D codes, that are used to monitor the movement of products and ensure integrity. C) Secure codes for the cold beverage industry: Alternative to security stamps: unique 2D code, printed during the production process; b) Other characteristics: resistant to background interference and verifiable by consumers and relevant authorities.
The Ministry of Finance, the company Secure Securities Printing House., the General Directorate of Customs, and the state joint-stock company Albtrace Co are responsible for the implementation of this decision.
This decision shall enter into force upon publication in the Official Gazette. The Albanian Government has decided not to renew the concession contract for the production and distribution of tax stamps.
As of January 1 of this year, tax stamps as securities are a state monopoly and will be produced and distributed by the Securities Printing House.
