Part of the northern Albania’s territory has been covered by snow during the night of this Friday, while Kukës, Tropoja, Puka, Dibra, Hasi but also other areas after days with unusual weather for the season are now facing the real winter.

Municipality of Puka has announced that despite the harsh weather, activities of the institutions continues normally and students can go to school and get the daily teaching uninterrupted.

"Snowfall covers most of the territory of the municipality of Puka. Our service employees from 03:00 have started the work for cleaning the road axes, which this morning did not create difficulties for the citizens.

Snowfall was still going on, while so far there are no difficulties due to atmospheric conditions. The schools are open and are expected to start the teaching process normally, while they have optimal heating", announces the municipality of Puka.

Snowfall situation in Kukës Region, according to authorities:

The weather situation at night was accompanied by high intensity rain and in the early hours of the morning with snowfall throughout the territory of Kukes Region.

Snow height in Bushtricë (Vasije) 30 cm, in Tropojë 15 cm and in Qafë Prushi 30 cm. From the information received from the field it results that:

> National roads are passable normally.

The contractors continue to work all the time to clean the snow, remove stones and fallen aggregates in some road segments, salting and keeping them functional.

> Rural roads under municipal administration are passable.

> The condition of the reservoirs is monitored throughout the Region.

> Drinking water supply is normal at the county level.

> Electricity supply is normal, except for Ad Kolsh, Malzi, Surroj Bicaj, Ujmisht, Bushtricë and Grykë Çajë, Kukës municipality, Ad Llugaj, Tropojë municipality and Ad Fajza, Has municipality. So far we have not reported any emergency issues.
