Over 40.000 Pfizer Vaccines to Arrive in Albania Monday
Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu informed this Friday that another amount of Pfizer vaccine will arrive in our country on Monday.
"We are waiting on Monday to continue the supply of vaccines. We will have about 44.000 doses of Pfizer vaccine on Monday, following the contract we have, of the Albanian government with the company Pfizer as well as the support of the European Union. Meanwhile, we will continue to increase the amount of vaccines in the country, thanks to the contracts we have signed," said Manastirliu.
Speaking about the growing interest in vaccination even among young people, Manastirliu said that there will again be open weeks of mass vaccination +18 years old.
"Open vaccination weeks will continue. The fact that we have availability and different types of vaccines in all our health structures creates the opportunity for us to continue vaccination for every age group. Of course these days have shown that open vaccination has worked. Recent days have shown that vaccine coverage has increased for all age groups and there is a growing interest for the young age group, ie +18 years old", said Manastirliu.
In the last 24 hours, over 14.000 vaccinations have been performed, while since the beginning of the vaccination process, 1,109,785 vaccinations have been performed throughout the country. Open vaccination will continue until Sunday, from 08:00 to 20:00 in health centers and vaccination centers concentrated throughout the country.
