Peqin, Three Jailed for Arsenal of Weapons

The police in Elbasan has finalized the coded police operation "Start 2022", developed by the Sector for Narcotics Investigation, the Operational Force in DVP Elbasan and the Police Commissariat Peqin. As part of this, three people were handcuffed and another was declared wanted. 

The arrested are S.D, 21 years old, resident in Peqin, for the criminal offenses "Production and sale of narcotics", "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Unauthorized production, possession, purchase or sale of cold steel. The young man has previously been convicted of crimes against the person; A. Ç., 43 years old, resident in Peqin, for the criminal offense "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosives and ammunition." The 43-year-old has previously been convicted of theft. 

Also, 20-year-old M. D., resident in Peqin, was handcuffed for the criminal offense "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition." The search for the criminal offenses "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosives and ammunition" and "Unauthorized production, possession, purchase or sale of cold steel" E. T., 20 years old, resident in Peqin. 

Based on the collected intelligence information, the police found and seized in the "Xhami" neighborhood of Peqin, in a warehouse, an arsenal of weapons, namely a Kalashnikov, two pistols, a shotgun, a knife, a bayonet, a defensive grant, an incendiary, ammunition, two pairs of license plates, a small amount of narcotics and cannabis seeds. 

The three arrested are suspected of possessing weapons, as at the moment they saw the police, they allegedly tried to hide the weapons in the place where they were found by the police services. 

The vehicle "Opel Frontera" and 1 mobile phone were also seized as material evidence. From the first investigative actions it is suspected that firearms may have been used in criminal events against life and property. The seized weapons were sent for further action to the Scientific Police Institute in Tirana.
