Personal Data Release, Basha Urges Premier to Resign
The leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, said that the Prime Minister Edi Rama should first resign and then apologize to the Albanians.
The leader of the Democrats has considered the scandal of releasing the salaries of citizens a criminal act that was committed by order of powerful political persons.
"As never before, Albanians are facing a fury of scandals that follow each other hour after hour. Another scandal has erupted that in any normal country would have been followed by the resignation of the prime minister. Edi Rama not only did not resign, but said that it was the problem of the NAIS (National Agency for Information Society) 'locks'.
It started with the patronageist workers in function of the April 25 election massacre. You media representatives have conveyed our views that the most sensitive data of illegally accessible citizens by the government were put at the service of the SP election headquarters. The scandal of the leak of personal data of Albanian citizens is a confirmation of the electoral crime. Edi Rama knows this very well. When he says that they were taken as pieces, he confirms our denunciation. The data leak scandal is a confirmation of the criminal scheme of the electoral crime of the patronageists' system. Edi Rama knows this, and that is why he publicly defends them. Patronagerists face prosecution, even imprisonment, in a normal state. It is scandalous, it shows the high degree of weakness that Albania presents not only for itself but also in relation to the allies for the protection of sensitive data", said the leader of DP.
"Do you remember how they stole the Tax server? Who ended up in prison, no one, because it was a scheme orchestrated by the government. Today Rama had to resign and then apologise. It is not a matter of an employee who has a passion to have in his pocket the salaries of 630 thousand Albanians. This is a criminal act of such proportions that there is no order to make it a reality, except for the involvement of the most powerful political persons in the country", said Basha.
