PM Rama Congratulates Ex-Premier Nano on His Birthday
In a long post on social media, PM Edi Rama wished a happy birthday to Fatos Nano, his predecessor in the Socialist Party, with whom he says he would like to write a book and share his experience in leading the main political left-wing force of Albania.
On the 68th birthday of Fatos Nano, Rama also revealed the communications between the two, while he says that the historical leader of the Socialists had an unsystematic profile, which gave the SP a new breath for the time he was in charge.
Fatos Nano was the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania. Nano served for more than 5-years as Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania in four different legislatures between 1991 and 2005.
He was the founder and first leader of the Socialist Party of Albania. Under his leadership and reforms, the Socialist Party of Albania made the shift towards a modern social democratic agenda. He oversaw the membership of the Socialist Party of Albania in the Socialist International and Party of European Socialist.
“The history of our relationship developed between extremes, from my "adoption" in the socialist family with the blessing of Fatos, to the "murder of my father" to take his scepter, is generally known. While we are talking, the relationship between us is nourished healthily, with a friendly communication where we understand each other even without speaking, because we have been talking for a long time as the driver of the first shift with the driver of the second shift, for the same car," Rama wrote.
