A 35-year-old man was arrested by the police in Pogradec, after he was caught red-handed while trying to transport 21 immigrants from third countries. As a result, he received payments from 1000-1500 euros/person. 

Also, following the procedural actions for this case, on the citizen's cell phone, online sites for illegal sports betting were found active. 

"The Illegal Traffic Investigation Specialists of Korçë, following the work to crack down on cases of illegal transportation of immigrants, against profit, after one week of proactive investigations, in cooperation with the Police Surveillance Agency, Korçë-Elbasan region, have finalized the operation coded "Midnight 15", as a result of which the citizen was arrested in the act: 

- 35 years old, living in Shkozet, Durrës. 

The 35-year-old was caught red-handed by the Police, in the village of Vërdovë, Pogradec, while he was transporting 21 immigrants from third countries with a vehicle (van), against payments of 1000-1500 euros/person, with the aim of illegally crossing the border, with final destination EU countries. 

Also, following the procedural actions for this case, on the citizen's cell phone, online sites for illegal sports betting were found active. 

As material evidence, the van in which the immigrants were transported, 2 mobile phones and a sum of money suspected to have benefited from this criminal activity were seized. 

The work continues to legally prove the criminal activities in which the citizen D. D. may be implicated, as well as to identify and arrest his accomplices. 

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Korçë General Jurisdiction, for further actions," the police said.
