Possible New Coach of Albanian National Team
'Love' with the Italian coaches was a positive experience, it brought results and prestige to the National Team, of course there were failures, but now is the time to turn the page. AFA (Albanian Football Association) President Armand Duka and his staff have decided to entrust the bench of the Albanian representative team to the Brazilian Sylvinho.
Sources close to the AFA indicate that Sylvinho and Duka have found a total agreement, as this was a negotiation that started a while ago. Immediately after the end of the World Cup, Sylvinho is free, as Tites' vice, he left the Seleçao bench after the disappointment in Qatar.
Sylvinho is a famous former Brazilian footballer, with an excellent career as a player where he played over 400 matches as a professional with elite teams such as Corinthias, Arsenal, Celta, Barcelona and Man.City.
The first experience as a coach was that of Tites' assistant at Corinthias, while in December 2014 he moved to Milan to become Roberto Mancini's assistant on the Inter bench. In 2016, he became Tites' right-hand man again, this time in the Brazilian national team, while in 2019 he tried his first experience as the first coach of a well-known club. It was French side Lyon who entrusted him with the bench, but the Ligue 1 experience was short-lived for Sylvinho, who was sacked in October 2019, just 4-5 months after being appointed. Then, in May 2021, Sylvinho was appointed coach of Corinthias, where he resisted for almost a year, after being fired in February of this year. The last experience was again in the arms of Tite, as an assistant during the World Cup adventure.
In Tirana, on the bench of the National Team, Sylvinho will have as an assistant Pablo Javier Zabaleta, also an international football figure, as he has played 58 matches with Argentina and has played at high levels in the club ranks. The objective of Sylvinho and the new staff of the National Team will be the same, the qualification for "Euro2024".
