President Meta Decrees Edi Rama as Prime Minister of Albania

President of the Republic, Ilir Meta has decreed the appointment of Prime Minister Edi Rama as the head of the Albanian government for the third term in a row.

This decision of the President of the Republic was made after the new Parliament held the first session, where the new Speaker of Parliament was elected. President even greeted one day ago the election of Lindita Nikolla as new Parliament Speaker, emphasizing that finally, Albania closed two darkest years of the history of parliamentarism in the last 30 years.

In this way, President Meta clears the way for Prime Minister Edi Rama to go to the office of the President of the Republic and swear-in, which marks the official appointment of Prime Minister Edi Rama as the head of the Albanian government.
