Prominent Writer Passes Away at 80

Writer and academic Luan Starova dies at the age of 80. This was announced by the National Book Center. 

Luan Starova, as one of the highest personalities of Albanian culture, during his life published a series of works that have found a place in the history of our literature. 

Starova published 7 novels, two volumes of short stories, a poem, several volumes of essays and studies. Luan Starova has also translated works by well-known French poets into Albanian and Macedonian. 

Following the publication of the first four novels in French: three by Fayard in Paris (The Father's Books, The Goat Time and the Museum of Atheism) and one by Les Editions de l'Aube (The Coast). of exile ”), some of his works were translated into 14 different languages. 

Luan Starova was born in Pogradec in 1941. For a period of time, Starova worked as a journalist, and later was accepted as an assistant at the Department of French Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philology in Skopje, where she was a full professor of French literature.
