Tirana Prosecutor Ols Dado has passed this Thursday the vetting process. He faced the Independent Qualification Commission (IQC) without problems on Tuesday, considering their cross-examination in-depth and objective, and asked for confirmation in office. 

Re-evaluation process for prosecutor Dado was carried out by the KPK body headed by Valbona Sanxhaktari, with rapporteur Genta Tafa Bungo and member Lulzim Hamitajn. Maria Tuma was present as an international observer. 

Ols Dado worked in the private sector and as a notary, before being appointed a prosecutor in the Pogradec Prosecutor's Office in 2008. In 2010, he was transferred to the Tirana Judicial District Prosecutor's Office, while from 2020 he was assigned to the General Prosecutor's Office as an assistant magistrate. 

The commission did not find any problems for a 2+1 apartment in Tirana, ordered in 2004 before the beginning of the task, property for which he paid 74 thousand and 110 EUR; for the purchase of a vehicle in 2008 for the price of 14,700 euros; as well as for some deposits that were opened before the beginning of the task and were added in the following years. 

For these assets, the subject has declared as a source his income from wages and from his private activity as a notary, the income of his ex-wife and his parents, as well as from the sale of an apartment where Nanny enjoyed ¼ tax share - all resources created before the task started. 

Reporter Bungo clarified that from the financial analysis of these sources, only an impossibility in the amount of 50.000 ALL was found, since the possibility of saving the subject until the moment of the marriage was not considered. 

According to the IQC, Dado made accurate declarations for an amount of 7,000 EUR donated by his mother, whose source was the income from the sale of a plot of land inherited from her parents. Likewise, no problems have been found for a building + building built in 1922 in Tirana, where the subject owns ¼ of the taxable part. This property was also given to him by his mother, who in this case also benefited from legal inheritance. 

The investigation showed that an enterprise contract was concluded for the development of this plot of land, but that it was revoked in 2017. Bungo claimed that the subject explained that another contract was subsequently concluded for the development of this property. According to the reporter, from the verifications there are no raised doubts. 

IQC did not found any problems even in creating a deposit in the name of the son of the subject of the revaluation. Reporter Bungo observed that after the beginning of his duties, prosecutor Dado did not buy or sell any assets. 

Prosecutor Dado was evaluated positively for the cleanliness of the figure, and no findings were identified in the professional criteria. Bungo did not report any problems regarding some reports made against the subject for which the investigation has been suspended, as well as in the two denunciations made by the public in the IQC. 

At the end of the session, prosecutor Ols Dado thanked the Commission for the administrative investigation carried out against him and asked for his confirmation in office.
