Citizen Rasim Shahini speaking on his concern

Quake Aftermath, DP Vocalizes Concern of Disabled Citizen

Representative of the Democratic Party (DP), Dorjan Teliti was in Shijak this Friday where he visited the house of citizen Rasim Shahini, which was destroyed by November 26 earthquake.

Shahini is a disabled person and has been living in a wheelchair for 9 months in very difficult conditions due to the lack of a normal place to live together with his sick mother. As Shahini declares, his house was classified uninhabitable by state commissions.

According to him, 9 months after the earthquake, local authorities have not taken any measures to provide a house to this family in serious economic difficulties, that's why he appeals for help.

His elderly mother finds it impossible to take care of him. His wife and sister have serious health problems, while a second winter outside would cause serious consequences for their health, especially in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I am paraplegic, do not move at all, only in a wheelchair. I am being washed outside. You can come and verify, whoever wants to come verify it. My bathroom is broken. When winter comes, I have nowhere to go.

Walk and see for yourself, you have seen for yourself, I can not stay in the tent. The administrator should come to my house as soon as possible, come to demolish it and rebuild it. I have nowhere to go!” Shahini emphasized.
