Rama, Dutch PM Inspect Works at Tirana Pyramid

Prime Minister Edi Rama, together with his Dutch counterpart, Mark Rutte, inspected the Pyramid in Tirana, where the digital technology center is being built.

Rama emphasizes that this center will be the largest in the region and is being built in cooperation with the Dutch studio MVRDV. The Prime Minister showed the whole building of the "Pyramid", what it had represented during the communist regime and what is expected to be transformed with the new project.

Rama also said that Tirana is the European capital for youth and when the pyramid project is completed, it could be a Dutch week where young people from the Netherlands will be invited. This week will be accompanied by festivities, music and various activities.

"This was the old museum of Enver Hoxha and of course it was a temple for his life. When things changed, this was the temple, then here was a park. This will focus on innovation and in some places you will be able to slide. There, it is the tallest tower in the Balkans, about 44 meters and is made of stone and meanwhile the whole facade will be created in such a way as to create the map of Albania. This ends next year.

It takes another year to build. Tirana is the European capital of youth and we are trying to have cultural activities. We will organize the Dutch week, we will organize it for everything, we will have different activities. For this we have to work with the embassy. We are open for young Dutch people who want to promote their work", said Rama.
