At a time when the former historical leader of the Soscialist Party, Fatos Nano, is admitted to hospital due to health issues, prayers have come from Prime Minister Edi Rama for his speedy recovery. Through a post on social media, Prime Minister Rama has announced that he has awarded the "medal of public recognition" to Fatos Nano. 

" I PRAY FOR FATOS NANO, 

In these difficult hours of the struggle for life, the historical leader of the Socialist Party and the man who turned the unjust suffering of deprivation of freedom into the source of a liberal spirit in leadership, at a time when Albania faced the wild ugliness of a political conflict driven by the spirit of revenge, ignorance, darkness and the boundless ferocity of a great historical leap, from extreme communist isolation to democracy as an overwhelming ordeal, in a land scorched by the fire and iron of successive empires and regimes, in a land burned by the iron fire of the empires and regimes that followed each other since the independence of Albania, where the institutional status of the state could never grow and where the freedom that came with the fury of popular anger brought with it the light of future and the terrible wounds of the destruction of many things in the name of the fight for democracy, deserves our prayers today and our gratitude for all the good he was able to give to the country and society in the heavy roles he had during his career with ups and downs arduous downhill," Rama wrote.
