The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, informed Monday that the new NATO-s air base in Kucova wille followed by a naval base in Porto Romano.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Rama underlined that this airbase overcomes Albania's boundaries and it is a security element for the Western Balkans.

"The new base have a huge importance that exceeds the borders of Albania and is an element of security for our region, for the Western Balkans, which we know is a region that is often accompanied by tensions. On the other hand, I want to thank all the residents of the area, for the patience they have shown during the reconstruction of this base. I wish that the base will bring new employment opportunities for them and for the entire chain of services, influencing the local economy as well. I want to thank everyone who contributed starting with our NATO allies with the hope and confidence that this new base will be accompanied by the new NATO naval base in Porto Romani which we are working closely on and will soon let's rejoice at the news of this plan soon," said Rama.
