A member of the republican guard has been handcuffed this Friday by the Gjirokastra police. Sources suggest that the arrested is a citizen with the initials I.Q. 41 years old who is accused of transporting clandestine coming from Greece across the green border. 

His arrest was made at noon this Friday by the anti-trafficking in Gjirokastra and Agency for Police Surveillance (AMP). He used to be an employee of the Former Service for Internal Affairs and Complaints and is currently an employee of the Republic Guard. 

"Specialists of the Section for Investigation of Illegal Trafficking in DVP Gjirokastra, in cooperation with the Traffic Services and AMP, following the work to crack down on criminal activity of providing assistance to foreign nationals, for illegal border crossing, for profit, in based on police information, have successfully organized and finalized the police operation "ROAD GUARD 16". As a result, the citizen I. Q., 41 years old, resident in Tirana (on duty in the Guard of the Republic of Albania) was arrested in flagrante delicto," announced the Police.
