Restrictive Measures Against Further COVID-19 Spread Published

Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu has signed Tuesday the orders for restrictive measures aimed at preventing Covid-19 infections.

A day earlier the Committee of Experts announced the new measures which will enter into force for a period of 3 weeks, with rights to review every two weeks depending on the dynamics of the epidemiological situation.

According to the risk scenarios, low risk areas, medium risk areas and high risk areas are identified and the summarized measures are as below:

1. Restriction of movement from 22:00 - 06:00 throughout the country, with the exception of movement for work reasons, health emergencies or urgent needs.

2. The activities of bars - restaurants are prohibited from 22:00 - 06:00 (except delivery service).

3. Smart-working for public administration (according to the specifics of the sector) in implementation of security protocols. Exceptions are service delivery structures but they must implement the security protocols.

On Monday, the Vice Health Minister Mira Rakacolli announced that Albania’s second nationwide lockdown will start from Wednesday, November 11.

"We have decided that all bars and restaurants to close from 22:00 PM to 06:00 am. While will be allowed to move only those citizens who have an emergency or must work. At the same time, smart working will be applied to all public administration employees and all these new restrictions will be in force starting from November 11", Rakacolli said.
